Too Big

Upper Emerald—

a small pool

with cliffs a thousand feet high

towering straight up on three sides.

I could not see the whole thing at once,

much less take a picture.

Far too big for that.

Life … love … relationship …

are Too Big to take in all at once.

The tests and sorrows would drown us;

the ecstasies in one swallow bloat us to bursting.
